To UWF Faculty Colleagues:

Within the next few days you should be receiving through campus mail the materials for voting on the few changes to our Collective Bargaining Agreement that resulted from our recent Reopener negotiations. Only limited parts of the CBA are open during this process and thus the changes are modest. The Executive Committee of United Faculty of Florida supports ratification.

The attachment to this email includes an explanatory letter summarizing the changes. It also presents Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) we have signed that do not alter the CBA. In addition the attachment includes copies of the old and new text of the CBA (with changes underlined). This material will also be posted on the UFF Web site (url to be provided in a few days).

Please be sure to return your ballots as directed by the deadline stated. Anyone is welcome to watch the vote count. If you are a member of the Bargaining Unit and do not receive a set of materials, please contact Kathy Heineken at kheineken@uwf.edu or campus phone 857-6337. Both members and non-members of UFF are eligible to vote if they are in the Bargaining Unit.

We will be opening negotiations on the entire contract later this year and welcome your input about sections of the contract in which you would like to see changes, or new provisions you would like negotiated on your behalf.

We are pleased to report ratification of the Reopener agreement that was negotiated earlier this academic year with the UWF Administration. Voting deadline was last Friday and the votes were counted yesterday.
